Teach Sustainable Habits to your Kids

The entire world continues experiencing a new reality due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it seems our little ones may feel this pandemic a little harder than us. Due to social distancing, they can’t hang out with their friends, go to school or even play in the park the same way as they used to.

For decades, human behavior has been damaging the world around us, but it is never too late to revert the environmental impact. You and your family can contribute by reusing recyclables, saving water, harvesting plants, or recycling e-waste. Don't forget to share any knowledge or green activities with your kids.

Here are some tips:

1. Don't scare them!

Be honest with your kids, but also don't make it seem like the world will end in two days because they will only feel worse.

2. Let them explore!

Tech is part of our day-to-day, so please let them do their own observations about technology and sustainability. Computers, tablets, and smartphones are great learning tools, but monitor what is researched because the internet isn’t a safe place.

3. Back in the game of sustainability!

If you don't want your child to throw away any e-waste, talk to them about pollution and its effects. There are several books, movies, websites, and magazines that can enhance your child's knowledge.

4. There are no wrong answers!

Remember that little children always want to explore, so take your time because they will undoubtedly ask you thousands of questions; if you don't have a precise answer, you two can start a new journey together to figure it out.
