Dell and its Sustainability Targets

Our society throws away 50 million tons of e-waste each year. This amount seems questionable, but unfortunately, it is a reality that has been destroying our planet over the last decade. It is also required to consider the impact caused by the tech industry because most electronic devices contain many toxic materials such as metals, plastics, or chemical substances. It would be impossible to stop manufacturing computers, but at least we can try to minimize the impact caused by those tons of e-waste.

Most of the tech leaders are already working on minimizing their environmental impact caused by manufacturing processes. Dell Technologies, is one of the biggest in the industry that has been creating processes to maintain a better environmental initiative. Dell gained popularity because of its strong performance and high-quality computers.

Just like Apple and many other companies, Dell has also started working on becoming a carbon neutral company. Recently, the company has started working on a new strategy to revert climate change and minimize all those e-waste problems caused by manufacturing.

Some of its goals are:

  • The company promises to develop a new model of greener computers over the upcoming years.
  • The company has also announced that used Dell equipment will be easier to fix, then people can use devices for a longer time.
  • It is supposed that Dell will reuse or recycle an equivalent product for every sold device.
  • As a future goal, the company will be taking 100% of its energy from renewable sources by 2024.
