Even if you are not an old-school buddy, you undoubtedly remember the iconic iPod touch. Apple released the first iPod almost 21 years ago, and this portable media player immediately grew popular among teenagers and young adults due to its portability and low cost. In 2007, the company launched the iPod Nano, an improved version that features a 2-inch screen and video playback to support games, music, and videos.
Things were fantastic, but why would you want an iPod to play music and games when we have iPhones? Yeap, it makes sense!! After having a big boom in the early 2000's, the iPod is nowadays most used for keeping kids occupied. Unfortunately, technological advances and time have surpassed the iconic iPod touch, and now it is officially discontinued.
Planned Obsolescence?
Based on Apple guidelines, an electronic device is considered obsolete every time the company stops selling or distributing it. It doesn't mean that your old iPod is electronic waste, but please take good care of it because it will not be easy to get service or parts after this announcement.
Great for all those who have kept away the Apple Effect maintaining vintage iPods alive because this small effort minimizes the overproduction of electronics.
