Surface Duo: Microsoft's new two-screen phone

Surface Duo: Microsoft's new two-screen phone

Microsoft's first phone generation ran under the Windows Mobile operating system. In 2007, the game changed with the successful launch of the enchanting iPhone. Windows software was excellent, but it did not offer enough apps as the iPhone did. Microsoft then took the decision of buying Nokia, and unluckily, it was also a failure. Finally, Microsoft selected Google’s Android software, which is a better system, easier to use, and offers millions of apps to its users around the globe.

What about their new Surface Duo?

Foldable phones represent tech at its finest. Having two screens will be like working on your computer with two monitors. This fact sounds incredible, but it will be attractive to start analyzing its specs and function. You can find the iconic Microsoft two-screened smartphone for only $1,399. Also, you can get the Surface Pen, which is useful while taking notes, drawing, and for almost everything. There are two different pens, the regular one at $100, and the slim one at $14.99.

It is easy to love the Surface Duo design, full-covered with glass and a metal Microsoft logo matching the 360-degree hinge. While folded, it is as thin as an iPhone 11 Pro, and it feels even more smooth and sturdy. For extra protection from drops, the device comes with rubber bumpers on the sides. so, you do not have to be worried all the time as you do with Samsung’s Galaxy Fold products. It also includes a hinge, which allows the device to stay open like a book, a tablet, a tent, etc.

Even when the current battery is good, the company stated that they are working on the implementation of two independent batteries, each one to support one screen.

The principal bugs with this foldable smartphone are that it is not water-resistant, nor does it have wireless charging or 5G. Surface Duo sometimes does not work as the user expects. The screen flips, closes, or lags the apps. Microsoft team is also working on fixing these annoying bugs.

Folding phones came under the idea of using two screens for independent apps. So, you could be reading your emails on one screen and watching a Zoom video call on the other screen, read two pages of a book at the same time, work, and watch Netflix, etc. The point is that it will be better than your current phone and if it is possible, to replace your computer.
