It is almost 2021, and the corona virus is still spreading. We all want the pandemic to end as soon as possible, but nothing is certain while talking about COVID-19.

In the beginning, we were all quarantined at home, but at this point, many people have tried new hobbies such as training, baking, painting, reading, etc. We must be grateful for living in a digitalized world, where the internet leads us to be wherever we want, even when we are not able to go outside and travel the world. I want to emphasize that people became more empathetic with the ones who need it. People are donating IT equipment to kids to continue with their classes, helping their family to get familiarized with tech, and the giant tech companies are giving opportunities to people who were cut-out of their jobs, etc.

What do tech companies say about it?

The tech giant Lenovo attempts to contribute to society while the pandemic continues living among us. Under this statement, they are trying to provide smart technology tools and making the community more emphatic with the purpose of empowering future generations. To achieve their goal, Lenovo conducted research aiming to prove if this fact is real or if it is just a simple thought. More than 15,000 respondents stated that through this pandemic, technology has made them more empathetic with the community.

According to the responses:

89% established that tech companies should care more about society when the pandemic ends.

79% of the respondents assume that they had learned more about tech, and now they appreciated its existence at a higher rate.

76% recognized that through this pandemic, they became more empathetic with their community in general.

73% believed that technology is a fundamental mechanism to solve global issues.
