How to recycle old phones, laptops and televisions (Part 2)

Recycle your computer and laptop easily
Before you get rid of your old laptop or desktop computer, you should know if it is still reusable if it is less than 5 years old, it is very likely that someone can continue to put it to good use.

Newer laptops can go to local nonprofit organizations or libraries after being reconditioned. To find a program that does this, you can consult the registered Microsoft refurbished directory, where you will find GREENTEK SOLUTIONS LLC, where we can help you dispose of your electronic waste.

If the device is too old or not able to be donated, you can recycle it.
Make sure that the program with which you are going to leave your old hardware has a good reputation on the EPA Certified Electronic Recyclers website and do not hesitate to contact the reconditioner or recycler for verification.

When you carry your laptop, remember to also carry all the devices that come with it: keyboard, mouse, printer, modem and any software. But remember to erase your information first!

Also, if you donate your laptop you can get a tax reduction. Keep track of everything you donated just in case.

To recycle those old TVs, screens or monitors.

Televisions are larger electronic devices, so recycling them can mean an extra effort, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.

As with the donation and recycling of phones and laptops, there are certain things you should keep in mind before getting rid of an old TV or a flat screen. If the TV still works, consider donating or selling it to a second-hand store.

If possible, restore them to factory settings, smart TVs may contain personal information. Unplug everything, wind the cables carefully and tape them to the device.

Best Buy can pick up up to two televisions per house per day for US $ 20 if you buy a new TV; These include cathode tube televisions smaller than 32 inches, portable and flat screen televisions, LCD, LED and plasma less than 50 inches.

A simple Google search will show you several recycling and donation locations that accept larger electronic products.
