Faster Internet while your family is quarantined

COVID-19 continues to spread across the world and many countries are in quarantine to prevent the spread of the virus. During the quarantine, people must stay in their home in order to keep themselves safe while they are studying or working. Wi-Fi is essential to complete all these tasks.

While connecting many devices or surfing on heavy websites, your internet connection might appear slow and, what is more annoying than having slow internet speeds?

We know you will be staying at home for the next days while continue working, video chatting, watching Netflix, and some other tasks at the same time. For this we have enlisted some tips for improving your Wi-Fi speed:

1. Move your router, if your Wi-Fi is sluggish just in certain areas, then moving your router is the best option to increase its speed; try to place it in a central place or near your main devices such as computers or consoles. Consider keeping it away from devices producing electromagnetic waves such as the microwave.

2. Wired connection, this option is more stable and faster, but it limits you from moving your devices; although it is a good choice to connect your gaming console or your desktop.

3. Install an extender, it is not too expensive, and it may help a lot.

4. Disconnect devices, try to prioritize the most important tasks for you to do.  For example, if you will be working, turn of Netflix and by this easy step, you will be able to surf faster on web sites. You can also limit your apps from using Wi-Fi.

5. Upgrading equipment, if it still fails you might handle this issue with your company for choosing a different and better option that can spread the Wi-Fi easily among your devices.

It is totally annoying to handle with Wi-Fi issues, and especially these days, that the whole family stays at home and you cannot go out, so everyone wants to watch a movie, video chat with a friend, surf through Facebook or complete your job’s task. We may be conscious that this takes a lot of internet, and by consequence you will have a poor connection. To strain on the internet, some of the most used streaming platforms such as Netflix, Facebook, and YouTube have reduced their videos’ quality while many users are connected at the same time and in the same house.
