Many companies want to deepen their relationship with the so-called "Internet of Things" (IoT), but at the same time, the Internet of Things is a true security carnival.
The Microsoft Team has been studying this problem for years, and their answer is Azure Sphere. Azure Sphere is a platform that combines a Linux-based operating system for microcontrollers, a series of certified chips, and a cloud security service.
It is estimated that by 2025 there will be more than 40 billion connected IoT devices.
In recent years, the IoT concept showed that this network is not as secure as they claim since it still has several security flaws that affect all kinds of products. Microsoft proposes integral solutions to these security flaws with its Azure Sphere system.
The engineer Galen Hunt, administrative director of this project, stated “IoT is in a testing stage, with several companies and divisions doing at least one experiment, but the lack of security is what prevents them from increasing the scale."
Azure Sphere seeks to attack this problem with three elements: A cloud service, a series of certified microcontrollers, such as the MediaTek MT3620 (a guardian to protect the most sensitive computers), and a Linux-based operating system, specially designed for IoT.
There are already some customers who have tested Azure Sphere in the production of smart appliances helping to extend the landscape of this operating system to identify security flaws and be able to be put into circulation as soon as possible.
Today Azure Sphere is already available in some development modules with an approximate cost of 35 dollars. Cost is almost the same as the "Raspberry Pi". The problem is that most online stores do not have stock.
